Born in the Midwest into what became a large family with six siblings, my father and mother were each other's partners for over 60 years. Today I live with my partner of almost 25 years. I am to this day very involved in my large extended family, maintain my private practice specializing in working with individuals and couples of all sexual orientations, and am engaged in a professional and personal journey. I am a student of relationships.
I have degrees in English, Theology, Philosophy, and Counseling Psychology. These degrees paved the way for a passion for learning. I've attended Loras College in Dubuque, IA: Loyola University in Chicago, IL; St. Thomas Seminary in Denver, CO, United States International University and National University in San Diego, CA; Creighton University in Omaha, NE; and the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. I've completed many certifications, the most relevant being in Bioenergetic Analysis and in Imago Relationship Therapy. I was recently certified as an Imago Workshop Presenter. I became a fully licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT 20355) in the state of California in 1985. I have worked in various institutional and private practice settings in my career. I love my work and anticipate learning and working into the future.
I appreciate being alive. Traveling nationally and internationally deepens my knowledge and appreciation of life's vastness and preciousness. I read voraciously. Of many interests and skills I've developed over the course of my life, creating movies and videos is one of my passions.
